What breaks in your strings faster - picking or fingerstyle?

Medium attack for both. Which kills a set of nickels faster?

I dunno about that.

But what i do to break in the string is to sit down and play the bass with new string for 4-8hr each day.

Then the string will break in in no time

I haven't managed to break a string yet.
Guess it's the agreesive style of playing that makes em break, but i really can't miagine how can someone play like that so he/she can break those thick strings.

Break in a new set of strings faster so the tone is settled, sorry for any confusion. And I play about an hour each day, so the time for each would be uniform when answering this question.

i personally try to keep my strings as new as possible, but i have noticed that playing fingerstyle will kill my strings a bit quicker, due to the acid and sweat on my fingers, so i usually play with a pick now just to make my strings last a little longer

Slapping and Popping will probably break in or wear out a set faster than pick or fingerstyle.

I have basses that I play solely with a pick, and others that I use both picks and fingers. I find that it really dosen't matter. Playing time is what I've found matters most in breaking in strings. The more you play them the quicker they break in.
