What color pickguard for this body?

Black but gloss not matte- it'll make the gold stand out even more. With black hardware.

White will dull it instead of contrast it, because it's a light against bright.

Tort will likely clash- which could look nice with the red and gold tort you posted.

But I dunno man, it's your bass :)
 
Cool. I generally like darker guards for darker fingerboards but that color, to me, seems like parchment. I am also not a youngster and I think that maybe the white would mellow that color just a tad.

I am constantly amazed at the colors people would put a tort pick guard on. Any tort would look terrible on that color. Black, white, cream, or pearloid would all look great. But tort would tacky as an orange 70s leisure suit.

I totally disagree with the bolded line. Brown tort and gold go great together. Especially with a rosewood board. If it's maple, I'd probably go black.
