I like almost anything except for Fiesta Red and Dakota Red. Fiesta red looks like faded plastic and Dakota Red looks too boring. ESP are the only ones to do Fiesta Red correctly and that's because it's a trans rather than a solid.

I wonder why the Mitchell MB200 basses have been dropping in price? It's a 40% drop! Is the Mitchell brand any good?
I've touched these at Guitar Center. It felt "premium".

Blood Red color looks good:

Red is one color I'd probably never willingly purchase, unless it was a seriously great player and a too good to pass up type of deal at the same time.

I think the orange one you linked looks pretty sweet though.

There are a lot of colors I think look great on basses, but apparently won't buy. Out of the 25-30 basses/guitars I have owned, I can only think of a handful that weren't black or white. And only one was wood grain - which I never liked but really appreciate now. My next one will be a wood grain.

My answer is, "It depends." I don't like blue basses . .. except Sonic Blue and Blue Dawn by EBMM. I like Gretsch orange on a Gretsch, but not on a Jazz Bass. Don't care you pink, except the faded Shell Pink on my Flea Jazz. It's complicated. :-)

I've read several comments that stated people wouldn't buy green finishes. I think its interesting that Paul Reed Smith has added green finish variants to its mix of colors for all their models.

I'm okay with most finishes except day-go and neon colors. I usually prefer finishes that show some wood grain (clear or natural).

'94 Gretsch G6119B-2.JPG I don't mind orange at all; on some instruments, it's almost obligatory... EA-250 Epi-1.jpg Red is probably the only color I don't like much. But, if you want '70s Japanese Epiphone hollow bodies, there's no choice; they were all red. But, other than it being my ex-wife's favorite color, I don't mind it all that much. Come to think of it, I guess I don't really have a favorite color...

You will never see me playing an orange bass.

T. someone with degrees from Oklahoma and Texas A&M whose other half went to Florida State.

I have degrees from Texas A&M and I love orange basses. I never got into the school rivalry with the University of Texas, but I knew people who hated orange because of its association with UT. One of my favorite basses is an Ibanez EDA905 that looks like a giant Cheeto.

The only color I'm not crazy about is sunburst. I have a sunburst Strat that plays great, but no sunburst basses.
