What did you do with your first bass?

It was a red Squier Affinity P-Bass. Sold it after playing about 6 months, for an Ibanez GSR200. The Ibby was nice, but I should have kept the Squier.

7 years later, I'm rockin' a Squier Affinity P. Full circle, baby

Painted it psychedelic, rewired it, added different pickup and pots. Its now my high action shortscale terror.

It was a Samick, forgot it's model number.

Had a P/J passive setup, unique look.

I sold it to my neighbor who was interested in picking up bass.

I was curious if my bass could stop a bullit if a fight broke out at a gig......turns out...no. But it was great fun figuring it out.

i traded my first bass (a '64 st. george, bought at a pawn shop, used in downtown los angeles for $50 in 1966), for a trans cherry finished Elektra violin bass in 1968. i sold the elektra and bought my first 'real bass', a brand new sunburst/rosewood p bass in 1969(for $293.44 with OHSC inluding 3% sales tax).

i've since found another st. george (only this one has a straight neck), just for nostalgic purposes.

I bought the practice amp that came with the bass rental and I don't even know where that went.

Mine is now a fretless with many chips, scrapes, and sanded areas from past experiments on it's finish. Sounds better than the day I got it.

I started playing on borrowed basses, and when I finally realized that bass is my main instrument (about two years ago), I bought a used Fender Hwy One P.

So I'm currently playing my first (own) bass, and since it's everything I've ever wished for I wonder if it also might be my last. (No promises, though...)

Mine was an 80's era "lawsuit" Ibanez "P" bass. Sold it and wish I never did. This one isn't it, but mine looked very similar.

Still play it. That's my bass (used Rockbass Corvette Classic 5). But my first electric guitar was sold to buy the bass. No regrets... I love playing bass!

It was a Raven, SG style. Garbage, really. No idea where I abandoned it -- at the time (almost 30 years ago!) I was just so relieved to move on to a better instrument.

But to this day, I get a pang when I see a burgundy SG. I'd love to have it back, for sentiment!
