What Did You Learn In 2013

The reason God made alcohol is because no good story ever started " well Jimi and I were having a salad......"

I LOLed. :D

I learned...

-Investing in the denim part of your wardrobe is definitely worth it. You don't have to go drop $150 on each pair of jeans or jump on the raw/selvage craze, but hitting up some outlet stores like TJ Maxx and finding some nicely constructed jeans for a decent price is well worth it.

-This kind of goes back to the current thread about similarities and differences between partners, but when choosing a mate, find someone you can really connect with on a deep and intellectual level. If you don't, there won't be a lot to talk about once the honeymoon stage of the relationship is over. I've known this for a while, but it really seems to be important lately.

-I've learned all kinds of interesting things related to my dissertation research, most of which would probably bore many of you here. :D

I learned that what you dream about and what you actually accomplish are entirely two different things......

I also learned there are two kinds of people in this world:-

Self-proclaimed experts who don't do anything but know everything

and...

those that get things done because they don't let experts stand in their way....

DTA...Don't Trust Anyone
Labour Lawyers are $300./hr.
in Business back up everything...send emails to a secure email address when necessary..
Wrongful dismissal packages can be a lot of fun...specially when you have the cooperation by the short and curlies!!!!!

all i can be certain of is this...

2013 chewed me up, spit me out, relieved itself on me, and then left me penniless on a dirt road. :bawl:

and oh yeah,... LOVE SUX!!!! (i don't care if you agree or not):spit:

Oh Love, that animal emotion. It lives down there with Greed, Envy, Jealousy, Hate, etc..., all brothers and sisters.
"I love hamburgers, I love playing my bass, I love anything that makes me feel good...!" Ha! Love pulls you right in, and if you don't recognize it's strengths and weaknesses, if you love the wrong thing, it will spit you right back out.
Love is a very selfish emotion because: before one loves something, that something has to make one feel good first. If we love the right thing we become stronger, if we love the wrong thing we become discontent.
Nevertheless, out of all the animal emotions, Love is the most important if you use it correctly. It is an ANIMAL emotion: there is much strength in Love.

Use your love and focus it on the right things and LIVE! YAY!!! :hyper:
:bassist:

Learned nothing in music since life has been to hectic for it. However, I've learned in plenty of other places:

I've taken several courses towards my MBA and should finish in August 2014. What I really learned though was group work sucks... but communicating priorities makes it much easier.

Something will always get in the way of deadlines. One late night getting caught up is better than two weeks of being behind. Suck it up and get it done.

Never underestimate the value of a $2.99 sandwich. :)
