What did you learn today?

That's heavy, wraub. My heart goes out to ya. If I could, I'd shout you a Grolsch or two.

Thanks! Truth be told, I have both a couple Grolsch washers and the original "batwing" strap knobs that came with the bass. Just haven't played this bass for a while, but grabbed it in a hurry for practice last night after the previously mentioned crappy day at work got me there late.

Best part- no damage to the bass, even stayed in tune. :) Plus, the band loves the sound of it, and I think it's a better aural fit for the band too, and it's fun to play. :D

Thank goodness. One of my favorite basses went down a little while ago. Only the second time in thirty-three odd years. I have nightmares now. No more propping up jazz basses on the sofa like a lazy dummy. Those things have a mind of their own

I hope work picks up for you. That was equally disturbing to read.

Thanks all for the hopes of of my employers clearing their cranial/rectal junction, but I see little hope for this, personally.
Things have been getting slowly worse since these new owners took things over last year.

Hey, on the bright side, I have fallen in love again with my 5 string bass, and, if the business tanks, I suppose I'd have more time to play.
So, I got that going for me, which is nice...

Also, on topic- You know the curved piece that goes around a lightbulb, and supports the lampshade?
It's called a harp.

I just came to the realization this mor,ing that I probably need a CPAP machine, because my sleep paralysis is getting out of hand. I woke up, aware but unable to move, with my neck bent in a weird angle, cutting off my air. So now I'm stuck and I'm doing my best to will myself into movement before I pass out and suffocate. I used to say anything but a CPAP machine, but I don't enjoy these daily suffoction ordeals. New lesson to begin the day, and now maybe I'll get that sleep appt. made!

Yikes! Yes! Do it! Now!

I struggle with one. If you need it definitely put the time in to get used to it. It will help. I don't have the same issue but I can tell the difference when I use it correctly vs not.
