Today I learned two things. The first was that Jim Gordon played on the famous cover of "Apache" by the Incredible Bongo Band, as well as the whole album.
The other thing I learned is how to like French roast coffee. It was generally low on my list of coffee. However, my wife and I received a coffee maker for Christmas, along with a pound of French roast coffee. Now, I'm not one to waste coffee, and I do like the smell of French roast. However, it was always too dark. This time, being as we have a whole pound of it, already ground up, I felt compelled to use it up before buying any more. I discovered how to balance the amount of coffee properly, and lo and behold, I like it a lot! I might have been converted.

That's the famous Red House that Philip Webb built for William Morris. Morris' wife, Jane, complained about heating it, too; she thought the coal room was too small.
