I learned today that this little Ashdown Tourbus 15 are freaking Awesome
If you have a hoodie with a good thick string you can put it on hood up,pull the strings tight , and get a credible bass tone in your ears. Maybe an octave range.

I learned that I need a second brain to tell me what I should sell and what I should hold onto. The one I have now does not work properly for said purpose.

To the best of my knowledge, that information is still classified and under the official secrets act I am not permitted to divulge it.
Today I confirm, these machines are right up my alley. And, a sixth bass, just like a lost bass of yore but better, better by a country mile, solves one problem I didn't know I had along with another problem I was well aware of
This becomes a replacement for an old jazz I lost to the (criminal) elements, back in '79. I can now let it go, and that feels surprisingly good
And, I now know I've made the right choice not to seek out the very model and vintage I had lost but, instead, get a copy from History — way better quality, ancient, rock solid, quarter-sawn, faultless maple neck— lowest action imaginable — high tech engineering, CTS pots etc., etc..And, being a sixty-two, it's also a bass of doom, more or less, but with speed-bumps extant, and tort, so I don't have to unnecessarily grind away at my epoxy board any longer, just to get up to speed. I now have a stand-in to deploy in the interim for practicing, so the fretless can take shelter and, as a consequence, with any luck, live a little longer.

Spoilt rotten. All my Christmases have come at once. It is a sheer delight to play. Anyway, here's the goods on this brand new, my fifth, Jazz bass, my first bass of any stripe in six long years. It helps, if you can read Japanese I wish I could

So far I've not been able to get the sound very audible ,outside of my own head. It works best when the string is tight around my auditory canal.
I'm considering a piezo element in my cochlear duct for live performance.
