…that there is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which Scotsmen, among others, call the Twilight Zone.
And where dogs drive VW's?

I learned that the internal space of a speaker cabinet has profound effect on the speaker's timbre & response.
I knew a bit about it, and even took an Acoustics class once, but that was reinforced today.

I put a piece of foam on the back lid of my little Peavey combo amp & immediately I could tell a huge difference in the response of the speaker, and it sucked really really bad.
It was like I was telegraphing the notes to the box & it sounded muffled, as if I were playing from the bottom of a trash bin.

Today I learned that when passing a semi on the interstate, you may only do so at no more than one mile per hour faster than the semi is traveling.

I similarly learned that if you're going to make a left turn in 3 miles, you need to get in the passing lane & drive 20 mph slower than the posted speed limit.
I actually witnessed a driver doing this earlier this evening. It boggles the mind! o_O

Or to slow down to between five and ten under at least one mile before your exit, in case it sneaks up on you.

What an unhappy day. Life has certainly dealt you a low blow.

I learned that if you are going hiking it is a good idea to check that your hiking boots are in the car before you leave home.

I did a 14 mile hike today in regular shoes, they were comfortable enough but had no grip whatsoever and it was pretty slippery in places so I was sliding about all over.
