The "doubt machine" (which might be a good band name) is precisely how science works. It is embedded in the process to be skeptical of all finds. The best scientists preemptively look for how their results can be challenged and design further experiments to prove or disprove the elements of doubt.

Doubt without logic "I just don't believe ****" is not science. But "I doubt because you haven't explained ****" is science. The burden of proof is always on the one proclaiming new information.
Science IS the doubt machine at work.
I would go see Doubt Machine. They could do a whole robotics festival - rage against the machine, florence and the machine...I stand corrected. But it's a terrible band name.
