I've never been given a choice of on-hold music. I had no idea it was even a thing. Apparently, I learned something today, too!TIL that if one manages to navigate the labyrinthine and recursive automated menus of the USPS to a point at which one can request to speak with an actual human being, one is allowed a choice of five types of on-hold music:
Press 1 for "Contemporary"
Press 2 for "Country"
Press 3 for "Hip-Hop and R&B"
Press 4 for "Latin"
Press 5 for "World Beat"
Choose wisely, because your wait time will be... "greater than 20 minutes."

Yeah, that was a first, and an utter surprise to me. Among all the other cost-cuttings, slow-downs, and gutting of services, they have the decadent luxury of five kinds of music??!!I've never been given a choice of on-hold music. I had no idea it was even a thing!

I was hoping the "Contemporary" option would give me something at least vaguely rock-ish.Seems like there should be a prog choice.

They paid for it by firing half the people that answer the phone.Yeah, that was a first, and an utter surprise to me. Among all the other cost-cuttings, slow-downs, and gutting of services, they have the decadent luxury of five kinds of music??!!
As for "Contemporary"...

Very likely, yes. They paid for it by firing half the people that answer the phone.

The Big Lebowski has much deeper themes than most of us suspected.
It's just, like... that guy's opinion, man.To long to watch; can you reduce it to a couple of sentences with small words?
