What do you call your BASS?

Bass Brothers,

I just wanted to know if any of yall or most of yall have named your bass, given her (or him) some kind of moniker or term of endearment.

My main squeeze of six years (Ibanez SR505) hasn't had a name really, but I was thinking of calling her Hannah after a favorite actress of mine, this German named Hanna Schygulla.

How's that for obscure?

I occasionally refer to my Spector Euro as "Kazimir", as it was made in the Czech Republic and Kazimir is translated from Czech as both "creator of peace" and "the destroyer". I think it's fitting.

I call my bass "My Bass" or "My Fender".

Well... I don't really give them names but I'll occasionally refer to them as:

THE BEAST

and because somebody on these boards said it reminded them of lettuce, THE ICEBERG

I've named my red MM SUB Daphne, after the red-head from scooby doo. I like the whole 'naming' thing.

My Corvette $$'s color is "French violet". Because of that, I named her Violette (all-european combination: German bass, Spanish player... French name ).

My double bass is called Willow. Parts of her are made of willow. My early MS5 Sadowsky is called Saddie. I just acquired a Sadowsky RS5 and she's been christened Saddie's Dirty Little Sister since she has the single coils. Don't have a name for the Rob Allen yet.

Only one of them is named - it's an original Lake Placid Blue 63 Precision, which I call Joyce.

I bought it with some money left to me by my Grandmother, also called Joyce. I wanted to use the money for something that I would remember my Granny by, rather than just paying off some bills.

Every time I play this bass, I do indeed think of my dear old Granny Joyce.

I refer to my SR506 as The Mastodon because of its sheer size. I tend to refer to my Schecter Elite 4 as my "Four stringer of fury".

My friends take this piss out of me for this, but i have 5 instruments: Red, Ruby, Roxxanne, Rex & Rosie, and thats in order of aquisition!

But you have to admitt, Roxxanne is a pretty neat name for a Marcus Miller IV

I useually just refer to my Wick as my bass, but recently I thought of calling him Leo (as in Lion) becouse of the lovely growl he gives. Plus it's my starsighn, so it kind of binds us together as one
