Right now I'm working on 2 masters degrees to facilitate a career change. When that, my work, and my band ain't stepping on my grapes (read: not very often), I can play storm chaser and every once in a while I get to drag the telescope out into the night. I also collect science & math books and love to travel with my wife.

I’m a photo hobbyist..I try to get out at least once a month with my camera gear... (G.A.S. happens there as well)
I also enjoy going to the race track to watch horse racing. Not a big gambler but I really enjoy this sport. We live near Belmont Park and Saratoga is a great weekend get away.
And I walk..for miles around NYC..whenever I can..always with a small camera.

When I was in My teens and 20s (I’m 36 now) I was an adrenaline junky. Mainly motorsports. Had a jet ski, snowmobile, dirt bikes and a dune buggy that was street legal that I liked to race 1/8th mile drag with. Also played sports at school year round when I was a kid. My love for that stuff faded after a bad dirt bike accident then pretty much ended after my kids were born. Since my kids were born I haven’t even driven over the speed limit lol. I do probably get enough adrenaline rushes at work though. I’m a surgical technologist and I cover trauma. I’m the surgical tech that scrubs all the gun shots, stabbings , motor vehicle accidents. I enjoy my job. For surgical techs scrubbing scheduled cases is kind of boring after a while. I like Trauma because I enjoy the pressure of having to be versatile and having to be able to think on my feet and adapt as the case goes on. For example most surgical techs specialize in one type of surgery. For example general surgery, ortho, neuro, urology, gyn, ENT, plastics, and so on. Well if you have a patient that has been shot twice and a round goes through the sigmoid colon(general surgery) and bladder(urology) and the other goes through the femoral artery (vascular) and femur(orthopedic) . You could possibly get into 4 different specialties for that one case if the patient is stable enough for docs to keep working. Outside of work and music these Days I just try to be a good a dad. Both of my daughters are in gymnastics and dance. When there’s a weekend when there’s no band practices or gigs I take the family out of town and do all kinds of stuff. Go to the beach, theme parks, science museums, visit relatives, sometimes we go to Farms where we can pick strawberries and or blueberries, hang out at the park. Just sorta get out, unplug from work, school, gadgets(phones and iPads) and just spend time together. I used to be into video games but mainly just play ports of Old SNES and PlayStation games on my iphone these days. You’d be surprised how many games that I consider classic are available on iPhone these days (nba jam, street fighter, mortal Kombat, multiple final fantasy games. Should probably sell all the video game systems and games I have laying around the house could probably fund another bass lol.

Stuff I have to do

Work 1: marketing, public relations, graphic design, IT management and history tours for an iconic farm. Seasonally this might include lavender harvesting and steam distillation (this is only a part-time job, because I've reached an age where the work-life balance is weighted toward the latter)

Work 2: I help senior citizens around my local area with their technology issues. I call myself a Computer Whisperer.

Around the house: collecting water, cutting and splitting firewood for the winter and any number of other jobs on a rural property in the middle of a forest.

Spending time with family, because they can be so annoying. It's usually okay if I simply stay in the shadows and keep quiet.

Stuff I like to do

Writing poetry, lyrics and fiction. Reading anything. Discussing the 'big' topics. Going for long walks or drives. I enjoy movies, plays and dance. Photography and videography, especially the wildlife that visits our home. I like to cook and eat, even though I'm one of those skinny-as-a-rake gluttons. I like to doodle, but that's usually triggered by my evening smoke. Playing games, especially role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons with my kids. Spending time with family when they're less annoying (sure, part of the problem is my problem accepting their problems). Laughing, cuddling and spending time with my partner.

I'm a strength athlete. 3ish hours in the gym, 4 times a week. Currently following Jim Wendler's 5/3/1 "Boring But Big" program, training hard for those long term strength gains. Current training maxes:

Overhead Press: 125lb
Deadlift: 310lb
Bench: 190lb
Squat: 280lb

Last time I tested 1 rep maxes on squat, bench, and deadlift I totaled 840lbs. Since I'm on a weight loss trend I probably won't see my 1 rep maxes go up all that much, but once my weight gets down to 200ish (currently 250ish), I'll start putting on some muscle mass and push to 1000lb total.

Gotta build muscles for a strong back to carry them heavy basses

Not much free time: I have a cabin and a newly purchased retirement home. One is 3.5 hrs West, the other is 2.5 hrs East. Constantly working on both. Also ride motorcycles, spend too much time on the internet, read a lot, work on my myers manx buggie, watch Netflix movies (lately), and work to get our current home ready for sale. Oh and dogs, garnd kids and our own kids keep us busy.
