what do you keep in your bass case?

In my 30 year old hardshell Fender case for local gigs, P-Bass, cable, tuner, clean rag, Xtra strings, spare strap, cupla picks, small screwdrivers if I need to to reset PU's or bridge.:bassist: For air travel, all of above plus underwear and socks for xtra cushion and to lighten my carry-on/luggage poundage.:smug:

Usually I have my bass with strap of course, however I also keep a few picks, a set of strings just in case, a wrist band (sweat band), and my tuner. Pretty simple. If I am touring then I would have a few more extras.

Strap, couple of red rubber seals from Grolsch beer bottles for straplocks, wireless transmitter and cable, and a clean dry rag for wiping down the bass and strings after practice and shows.

My case has two open areas but they don't have lids or anything like that so I don't put in anything that can bounce around and damage my bass. I keep all my other stuff in the toolbox my dad got me for my 10th birthday ;) Thanks, dad!

Stuff in my toolbox:
9V batteries
Mini Maglite
Sharpies
Steno pad / notebook
Gaffer tape (not duct tape, the matte black stuff)
Multi-tool and misc. tools
Speaker and instrument cables
Boss TU-12 tuner
Earplugs
Small towel (Sass that hoopy Ford Prefect! There's a frood who really knows where his towel is!)

:bassist:

2 patch cables, tuner, picks and my strap. I have a couple army surplus ammo boxes for everything else. one has pliers, screwdrivers, strings, 9-volts, winder, allen keys etc... , and the other box is loaded with cables. all of our cables and little pieces of gear are colour coded and get thrown into the matching coloured boxes to whomever in the band they belong. We often have a friend or two help with setup so it was mostly to make it an idiot proof system. I know what cables are mine, but my friends don't.

Bass, small multi screwdriver, allen wrench, extra cable, strap, stand, extra batteries and cloth. I always carry picks in my pocket w/change. Don't use them much for bass. I've never used a tuner. I tune one string to one of my keyboards, the rest by ear. I used to tune pianos to a tuning fork.

I have several basses to choose from, so each case/ gigbag has bass, strap, 20' instrument cable, spare strings, and a small towel. I also carry a small canvas toolbag that holds 2-3 instrument cables, speaker and power cords, tuner, screwdrivers, allen wrenches (incl a 0.050 for by BadassII), guitar stand, flashlight, extra strap, ???
