It's pronounced, "Woostah sauce" in the UK. They drop the "shire" entirely.
It goes into anything that has a brown liquid sauce including stews, soups, beef dishes. It also goes into Welsh rarebit in our house. You might call it "Welsh rabbit".
Bloody wonderful stuff. I used to slurp teaspoons of it , straight, when I was a child. We didn't have much entertainment in those days, and just 2 television stations...
We go through 2 bottles a year, at least.

I use it mostly like a condiment, except before (just before) cooking. Using it straight after cooking would be too much, but it's pretty great mixing in with the meat juices!
