What do you sit on to practice?

For those who sit to practice, what do you sit on? A household chair? A chair like a classical guitarist uses? A drum throne? Pros/cons?
I don't play with a band and don't plan to.

I have a couple stools. I bought a few cheap industrial shop stools that I’ve used for years and recently got some hand me down bar stools that are nicely padded. I prefer stools because the arms of chairs get in the way

This doctor’s stool is highly adjustable, very comfortable, rolls and swivels. For at-home bass practice I haven’t found anything I like better

Mostly the edge of my bed with my right foot on the bedrail.

If I use a folding chair I will use a guitar foot rest.

If I use a guitar bar stool it has to have a cross member where I can rest my right foot so my right knee is at the height I am used to.

Because of this I make sure I have an extra foot rest in the car if I’m going somewhere to jam (not gig).

Gator makes a stool with guitar stand built in. I’ve used it for about a year now and it survived nicely. Folds up mostly flat too. Noted, in my 70’s that I carry more furniture with me including the stool and amp stand than any time in over 50 years of playing gigs. Talk about needing support!

sometimes i use my drum throne (sitting nearby my computer) but these days i'm mostly practicing for briefer, but more frequent sessions: i might just sit in my office chair...so it depends. sometimes i just practice standing, which is different than practicing while standing!

I use a regular office chair with one of the arms removed. When I replace it I'll get an office chair with arms that lift up out of the way. A friend of mine recently bought such a chair and it is a great thing.
