Im going to be buying a Hartke 410XL and a Hartke VX115 with a behringer BX4500 head (the behringer head as i am on a budget and thats the best bang for the buck) Just wanted to see if any of you have any comments on this-thanks

I'd recommend Avatar cabs over the Hartke- same price range, slightly better build quality... I think.
neone else have any opinion on this stack? i think it would be nice, ive played through the 4 10 with a behringer and it was nice, not sure how the 15's are though...
When I don't bring my rig in for practice each week, there are times when I'll rent out a cab and sometimes it is the Hartke 4x10 XL Series. I have played a handful of 4x10's, 1x15's and even 1x18's. It isn't a bad cab, but I would suggest you try out others to see what you hear from other more expensive cabinets. If you have a GC or similar shop try them out. Even if it is a $1500.00 4x10 cab vs a 4x10 XL cab... figure out what the difference is by using your bass and an amp in the store. That's what I do. And when I hear the difference I figure out for myself if the sound and weight and build quality is justified in the extra dollars.
I'm not a fan of Hartke gear. Nor Behringer either, for that matter.
Consider buying a quality used rig in good condition, rather than any of this stuff new. But if you want it new, Avatar would be a better choice of cabs, IMO.

Of those 3 pieces of equipment, I'd say that only the XL cab is good. I picked up the cheap VX cab for non-serious playing situations, and I could not deal with its sound.
Anyways, make sure that the aluminum-cone sound is something that you like prior to buying the XL. It is a good cab, but has a very different attitude compared to other cabs.

I use harke cabs and heads cos i got them when i ws on a budget. I wouldn't sh*t on benhinger though - it would taint my glorious excrement.
i'd say get the 2x15 and 350 harke - the cab is 4 ohm and the head is much nicer than benhinger. the vx are alright for what the are..which is cheap

hmm...i've been debating buyin a couple 410XL's w/ a GK head, sounds like i may need to rethink lol
the only harke Cab I will touch is the 4.5XL or the 2.5XL the rest are cheez if you gonna get Hartke cabs, then a Hartke head will go better with them than a behringer IMO
Its probably better to go with a smaller, higher quality rig than a big, low quality one. Surprisingly, the volume difference between a high quality, smaller rig and a low quality big rig is not much.
i picked up a vx115 bout a week ago, tried it out this past tuesday at practice, and i'm actually pretty pleased with it...it may be a cheap cabinet, but worth the money invested atleast IMO, plus i got it on sale lol
+1 I played a Hartke 4.5XL for years and I still consider it one the best 4x10 cabs going. I'd forget the 1x15 and get the Hartke 4.5XL instead of the 4x10XL. I'd also look for a little better head. Maybe a GK. or you might consider going all GK as an alturnative.
The 410xl is honky and lacks low end IME. I play on one sometimes as a backline rig at a bar my band plays at. A old GK 800RB head (perfectly fine head which I rather like) into the 410xl (blah) makes it difficult to do much with my tone.
Peaveyman, Why not stay true to your name and grab up some used Peavey gear? It would be a lot better quality and less bread than what you are trying to buy.

If your profile is still accurate I would not view this as an upgrade. If you have an SWR 410 and a Hartke head already. I'd consider upgrading one piece at a time.
I don't view Behringer as a best bang for your buck but rather you get what you pay for.
I wouldn't do it. In addition a decent 4x10 cabinet is plenty of sound maybe you should consider a single 4x10 and a decent head.

Yep, gotta agree. I mean, I saw a Carvin B800 go for peanuts the other day in the CLASSIFIEDS section. And it's more-monstrous-yet brother the B1500 is so cheap it's ridiculous, and it's often on sale for even less than that. Who would have guessed you could get that kind of power and sonic quality at that price a few years back?
