What does NBD stand for?

Sorry, no can do. The thing is outlandishly heavy, which is why it's retired, but it's been with me since 1985 and has played the Carowinds Palladium in Charlotte NC and the James Brown Auditorium in Augusta, GA, so I can't just let it go. It shall be studio art now :)

BTW, got a new iron pewter Ibanez SR300 in the mail yesterday. Sitting around surfin the site and wearing this thing out. Replaces my retired Yamaha BB300.

Not to highjack your thread here, but I've been contemplating getting this as my first bass.

Can you tell me a bit about how it plays/sounds and if it is a good choice as first bass?
