Haha, yeah! I must admit that part doesn't appeal to me, but you don't live if you don't take chances. I drove through Compton when I was in Cali ;P

You pansies, it's not THAT hot. :p Well, not down here in Sydney. We get the best weather in Australia here IMO. I have stopped over at Darwin airport for an hour on my way to Mumbai, and I don't know why anyone would want to live there. It's the most disgusting weather I have ever experienced, it is so humid it literally feels like you are swimming.

Well - I want to be comfortable and relax on my holiday - when I was a teenager I did the whole backpacking thing, ended up stuck in places with no money - no food for a week - came back with skin conditions and earache, saw the doctor and he told me I was malnourished and under-weight - never again!! :p

I assure you, Sydney, Melbourne, and basically anywhere in the bottom half of Australia is nice and comfortable. :) It's just the places up north that are unbearably hot and sticky. This year we've had pretty mild weather actually, the summer wasn't hot at all and the winter isn't very cold at all.

Dunno about you Bruce, but I just spent 11 hours coming home from Norway, and I'd say the year I spent there was well worth the (in total) 24 hours on an airplane/at an airport... :P
Then again... I guess when most people say explore the world they don't intend on staying in each place for a year either :smug: :P
