Well, as always, I'm completely enamoured with the warwick thumb tone, but recently, I've been thinking of making a custom bass myself (a dream I've always wanted to do) from warmoth.
it would be a:
Gecko 6 body made of bubinga (maybe chambered, I'm not sure how it would effect the tone, which I want to be really tight and growly-punchy)
wenge neck with wenge fingerboard
basslines soapbar pickups (2 pickup body)
aguilar OBP3 preamp
I can only imagine how killer that would sound.

Well, im always gasing for a 76 Fender Jazz Bass with that wonderful walnut finish.
