What gave you serious G.A.S recently?

I still have alot of GAS, but I notice that it has changed. I find that I have very little interest in really highend instruments anymore. I think the internet and GTGs have cured me somewhat. The internet has let me know that I am a very modestly skilled player, at best, therefore, when it comes to basses like Foderas, I doubt if my skillset is good enough to really take advantage of what they have to offer. When it comes to boutique Jazzes, I have found that I like them, but not enough to buy one since I sound very similar on off the shelf Fenders, JB-2s, Skylines, Foundations, etc.

I still get GAS, I just get it for stuff that I am can see myself buying. The other stuff is simply in another dimension of bass playing experience.

Some friends of mine rehearsed their band in my studio the other night. Their bass player brought an Epiphone Jack Casady sig bass and he played it through my old SVT. Pass the Maalox, I'm GASsing bad!

I just saw The Tubes this weekend and the bass player was playing a [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and it sounded great. These MSRP for only 1K and street new for under $700. Nothing wrong with this class of instrument AT ALL.

Well, I've bought a Fender Jaguar Bass VI, as I more or less said I would earlier in this thread, and it's brilliant.

See the berg website for deets, but the IP (Intelligent Powered) series is a whole different ballgame from the HT/EX series, which are just plain speaker cabs.

This is my all-time favorite MIJ J bass! I too GAS for that one! The only thing I don't like about them is they don't do the true 70's bridge pickup location. Dangitt!!

I ALMOST had a line on one, but then the "deal" fell through. I may order one direct someday, but no hurry. Other irons in the fire right now.

I have real heavy duty GAS for a non-Gibson SG styled bass. I wish Bud Lecompte came out with his own version of the SG style!
