I can't believe the coiled "telephone" style cord hasn't been mention yet! Old guys love to wax poetic about those things.
I'm 19, this thread makes me feel old.
I drive a minivan to gigs, played Johnny B. Goode at gigs before, wore a hawaiian shirt, fedora, and loose jeans at gigs before and more.
Yes that, among other things. Cliche and predictable for sure. .hawiian shirts
I think you could juxtapose full-sleeve tattoos with those Hawaiian shirts and it might just work. Might look a little "busy" though . . .
Or, just wear the gun on the outside . . .

Old guys rule. I hope to become one someday.

my gray hair is what makes me look old.

Best post so far.Being old has a tendency to make you look old. Dressing in the trendy clothes of yesteryear does to, unless you weren't alive when they were trendy, in which case, you're retro.
Gear itself doesn't, unless we're talking about a hot-pink Kramer with nekkid chicks, or something similar.
Ditch the suspenders, both on the pants AND the socks. That'll help.
And I strongly disagree that a Fedora makes you look old. Unless the post said Fodera, in which I case I still disagree. Nothing says awesome like a good hat coupled with a bass worth more than my car.
What is the appeal to those things? I tried one once, got caught up in it by the third song, it pulled the drink off the top of my amp, and was hopelessly tangled by the end of the night. It felt more like a leash than a cable.I can't believe the coiled "telephone" style cord hasn't been mention yet! Old guys love to wax poetic about those things.
No bérets please for the love of God. I think the French created those stupid hats just to piss me off...nothing looks worse if you ask me.
No gear makes you look old. Even what old guys would have played (Ampeg SVT + Fender P) are still highly regarded and saught after by the "younger crowd".
