What happened to TB?

What happened to TB? I remember when this forum was filled with knowledgeable experienced bassist that could give good advice and opinions.

This forum has turned into a Facebook alternative for a bunch of halve ass players that post comments that don't know what the "F" there talking about.....what happened?

I'd hate to be a new member and not know how cool this place use to be.......

I can relate. I've been here a long time, but every so often I have to take a break for 3-6 months or so. Things just start to get under my skin and it's no fun anymore. Then when I come back, I enjoy it again for awhile.

+1, I feel kinda the same way. I think Robert B and I probably have more ability to say things like this more than anyone if you look at our join dates.

Honestly TB has changed, a lot for the better and maybe some not so much. One big change I can say is that a thread like this is more than 8 pages in less than a day. Unfortunately a lot of threads on here get like that, sometimes it makes it difficult to keep up.

I think that is part of the life cycle of these things. After a while the sheer repetition of the same noob questions and poor attitudes takes its toll and it is time to do something else for a while. I'm a long time member on a couple other boards out there and just need to get away from them from time to time. That's how i got sucked into signing on to Facebook. Some other board members were getting stupid - not allowed on boards - and having a blast on Facebook and I got sucked in. It is nice to keep relationships going with online friends without the limited subject matter and noob annoyances.
