My oldest daughter just sent a text saying she is now engaged I'm very happy for them both. He is a great guy and properly worships the ground she walks on He's also a hell of a sax player.

I happened to drive by the local Ikea today and this caught my attention, so I stopped and snapped this pic. My buddy told me later that a group of people had gathered around it and were taking pictures with it.

Yesterday I got an email from Wunjo's Bass shop down in London saying I'd won a Sub by Sterling.

I got a chance to play one of those at Guitar Center, and it was surprisingly nice. The neck felt almost as good as a regular Music Man, and the pickup sounded great, no noise and it was very light.

today I went to Cabelas right after breakfast, then to Total Wine & more, then had a good Tex Mex lunch, then hit the grocery store, then came home and worked for about 15 min, then went to get a Christmas tree, then came home and poured some Macallan and sat in my easy chair and got on line.

In Costco, I cheered on a small child as he successfully opened the freezer door and got a box of waffles. As he ran off, I said to the woman who was waiting for him to clear out, "I think he stuck with that quite well." She said, "Of course he did. He's a boy."

I'm sure I went full RCA Victor dog look, and slowly said, "I am pretty certain stick-to-it-ive-ness is neither a male trait nor a female one. Girls are certainly -"

She interrupted and said "Oh no, boys just get what they want. Girls are princesses and want everything given to them."

I was flabbergasted. You can't imagine how hard I had to work to not make eye contact with her 14-year-old daughter. The last thing I wanted to do was humiliate the kid, so I walked on.

Just in time to test out earlier tonite in a side project start-up I'm getting involved in. It sounded killer
