Where did the Jaco vs. Jamerson thread go? I thought it was a fun dumb argument thread!

Probably the Mods struck, that kind of stuff always turns personal and gets into bassist bashing. Ironically, Jaco REALLY loved Jamerson and always cited his influence, as well as Jerry Jemmott, Tommy Cogbill, Chuck Rainey and Bernard Odom.

Oh well, it is fun seeing what other people think about two of the most influential bassists of all time. IMO, Jaco, Jamerson, Larry Graham, and John Entwhitsle, are the most influential bassists because they repectively put, fretless, advanced harmony, slapping, and treble/roundwounds, on the map. Obliviously, I am leaving out dozens of players, including personal favorites like Marcus Miller, Bernard Edwards, Jeff Berlin, Stanley Clarke, and Chris Squire, but that is how I see it.

Yep, a lot of doors got opened by those 4 guys. I feel blessed that I got to see 3 out of the 4 in performance. Bass History, indeed!

Yeah, that was weird. I was actually in that thread when it disappeared. I had finished one page, then clicked on the next page. But instead of going there, I got a screen that said something like, "Cannot be found". I figured that the thread got deleted because people weren't "playing nice"...
