What is missing from chorus pedals?

A crossover. I've use an old Peavey Biamped Chorus for years just for this, but I'd love for the pedal to split the signal via crossover and then recombine it in the same pedal.

My only complaint about the Peavey is that the Chorus effect is too subtle, the crossover point is not adjustable, and it requires (allows?) one to use both outputs and recombine them somehow.

Except for the fact that a $500+ modulation pedal that is the size of a small pedalboard by itself might as well not exist for 99% of bassists.

So what?
People will use a pedal like this for the same reasons they might use an SVT instead of an MB800. Effects that don't quite sound like what you envision are like shoes that don't fit well...not a good deal at any price.

This pedal is on my short list of near future acquisitions. It can give you a certain richness and warmth that so many chorus/flangers can't. over the years I've spent way more than $600 on choruses that didn't give me exactly what I wanted so the Moog actually seems like a pretty good deal at this point. If it's all about going cheap and tiny why even play the bass?

What I want most out of a chorus pedal is LUSHNESS and its ability to be pronounced.

What he said, as well as either a blend knob or crossover to have the effect only hit the higher frequencies.

If a chorus had those features, I wouldn't be that picky about the size. Ok, nothing like an Electric Mistress or anything like that, but it wouldn't have to be a nano footprint.

So, I don't know what goes on in the SPX90 Symphonic patch. Could you help me by spelling it out?

Also, for the Duff fans that posted earlier, I don't know what was being done in the SPX he used--does anyone here know more specifically?

I didn't read the whole thread because I'm in a hurry, so if this was covered I apologize.

I think being able to select the range of the LFO sweep would be good. As in, being able to adjust if it effects just the mids, and highs, or the whole frequency range. I know that's not how a chorus pedal works... but wouldn't it be cool if it did work like that? That way you could keep the lows and just chorus the mids and highs. Or just the highs... or just the lows... whatever.
