What is most important in your life?

My partner. She's the sweetest lady i never known on earth. Without her, i can't live.
Then her children, equal with my dad and mum.
Then my friends
Then the music
Then the bass
Then beer

Changes every day for me.
I guess music though, everything I do and have done is somewhat related and my life would be so incredibly different if I never picked up an instrument.

Right now it's probably one of the people I live with. She's the sanest person I know, and she has kept me fairly sane for the past 3 years as well. She has helped me get through uni, the end of a 3 year relationship with my first love, a succession of annoying/lying/crazy/****ty housemates, and much general stress from life. She's also really cool and funny, and we have had some amazing times together.
Best of all, I completely ****ed her over last week (not on purpose - I did something stupid by accident) and she forgave me pretty much straight away. Can't ask for much more than that from a friend.

Kids, music and wife. Losing any of those would probably drive me mad. Everything else comes a distant fourth.
My wife is number one. She's simply the most remarkable person I have ever known. I can't believe how lucky I am to be sharing my life with her. I can't think of anything I ever did to deserve her, but there she is, teaching me day after day what "unconditional love" really means. She is my greatest blessing.
My kids, of course. It's very tough being a "bicoastal" dad (I'm in New England, they're in SoCal with their mom). But there's not much I wouldn't do for them. They're really terrific people, smart and funny and kind.
My faith community is also very important. It's the one environment where I get totally outside myself and focus entirely on others. Our tiny parish is very active in our economically depressed neighborhood, so we spend a lot of hours with this small group of dedicated people, getting as many of our brothers and sisters out of the weather and fed as we possibly can.
Music ties all of this together. My wife is a singer with a simply stunning gift (and that is not just "IMHO"... the worst part of working with her is that none of the rest of us ever get compliments from the fanbase, it's always people coming up and gushing about Kasey's voice
). My kids both have a deep love of all kinds of music (dad raised them right!), and my son is becoming a very competent drummer. And of course the missus and I are involved in music ministry at church.
So music is like the glue in my life. It touches everything I do... except my DAY JOB, which you'll notice did NOT make the cut of "most important things in my life!!" But seriously, my job is something I cannot complain about. I work with cool people, I am paid decently and have great benefits. It's not inspiring work, but it gets the bills paid!

Another one for family (wife, kids, grandkid). As you get older you realize these are absolutely the most important and valuable "things" in life.
