What is the best self defense product?

Pepper Spray is good, but you always have to make sure your not spraying it into the wind or even near your face.

Tasers even though they can only be used in close range, have a full body strike range, compared to pepper spray which is only effective in the face.

Get both! It never hurts to be prepared for any situation.

There is no one best self defense option besides common sense and good judgement. Home self defense is easiest since the array of legal options is widest. A gun is good if there are no small children in the house. A dog is a great option too. It may sound crazy, but a long spear is a great home defense option that people don't think about. Similarly, in honor of the late Alexander Solzhenitsin (sp) a pitchfork by the bed might be pretty handy too. AS said he kept a pitchfork by the bed in case the KGB ever snuck up on him at night.:D

My guess is the most common home defense item in the USA is the Louisville Slugger.

Most women can't find their cell phone in their hand bag. Now your adding OS spray and a taser to the mix?? Even if it's kept handy chances are about 95% it will be grabbed and used against her.

Just be bigger and meaner than everybody else. If you wish an extra degree of safety, be sure to be naked and to talk to yourself.

Funny story my dad told me one time... While my dad was attending school at UIC, him and my uncle went out one night to a bar up north a bit. My uncle drove and ended up ditching my dad for a lady, leaving my dad to find his own way home. On the walk home, my dad had to walk through a rough part of town, so his brilliant plan; He knew no one would mess with him if they though he was off the rocker, so he took his shoes off, tied them together and threw them around his neck, and then acted like he was ********. Im sure being drunk helped make this more believable. Lo and behold, no one messed with him. Whatever works. :p

Baseball.... the all-American sport, and the equipment sends 'em packing. A Louisville Slugger is totally legal to carry around.

A couple of years ago, a couple of punks followed me and my daughter into her school's parking lot, and one of them popped out with a little club, like I used to use to whack fish after catching them. He was talking stink to me and swinging his little stick, so I just stepped out of my truck with my Wonderbar (pic) and walked straight at him saying nothing. Kid was backtracking pretty fast.

In the good old days in Wisconsin, we all carried scatter guns and bows on racks in our trucks, clearly visible in the rear window, and nobody messed with nobody. Mutually assured destruction.

How about one of these guys. Kinda like a folding sword!! I've got 2. Just need to find a pair of cargo pants with a big enough pocket to carry them in. The guy who designed these must have some kind of complex ;) ....or be 8 feet tall.

They're not really that big....close though.

I actually carry a 2x4 with a couple of rusty nails in it in a custom made quick release holster. Light it on fire for better effect at night.
