True story...
I was at the brink of drowning once, almost 30 years ago. I had waded out into the Red River to try to free up my fishing line and stepped off a ledge into a deep pit in the river bed. Quickly I became tangled up in fishing line and exhausted myself trying to get free while treading water against the current.
As I came up one last time, too tired to fight anymore and ready to give up, I saw an old man who looked like my grandfather on the shore with a fishing rod. Almost in surreal slow motion time he bent down, opened up a tackle box on the ground, and took out a heavy practice bob..like a lure with no hooks..tied it to his line and cast it out to me. I grabbed hold and he literally reeled me in toward shore. I crawled out of that river on my hands and knees and collapsed on the sand.
Then I looked up to thank the old man and there was no one there.
My grandfather had passed away 10 years before that day.

So I'm laying on the table, unable to move or speak, while I'm feeling the doc cutting, and slicing my nether regions. After what seemed like an eternity somebody finally notices that my eyes are wide open and I'm trying to scream... oops
