What Is This P Bridge?

I played a gig (as a drummer) about a month ago and the bass player had a well-worn Precision with that same bridge on it. I asked him about it, since I had never seen one before. He said he bought the bass used, it came on the bass when he bought it, and he had never seen another one like it. It's a rarity, for sure. But it did have the Fender logo on it.

As I recall, the 70's seemed like a time when all instrument companies were trying new designs to see what might catch on. Some worked and some were just wacky.

Definatly original Fender gear, I remember seeing a couple of basses with them in a Sydney music shop around 1979. I wish I'd kept all my old GP's from back then as it was advertised quite a lotand if memory serves me right it came in to the market place in either late 77 or early 78. Fender were doing a lot of brass stuff at the time with their special no tarnish brass coating (it didn't work). From memory they stopped offering as an option in about 1980 or 81.

Your wrong!! The quote was;

"Not the Craw.....Claw"! :hyper:

Love that show

Cheers

Rusty!

Actually, you've got it wrong as well. The Claw was a Chinese Kaos agent who couldn't pronounce the letter L (as the sound isn't part of the language). The exchange went typically went something like this:

Maxwell Smart: Ah, we meet again, Craw.

The Claw: (showing Smart his claw) Not Craw! CRAW!

I know it was "Craw" but I was just trying to hold with current sensibilities and not offend anyone.

Try to be nice and see what happens?

:D

I lived in China and they have a hard time with L and with TH sounds. I dated a girl there and called her Cassie for the first few dates until she was finally able to explain that her name was Cathy. We literally had an exchange where she was saying "Not Cassie, CASSIE!" We both got a good laugh out of it.

I'm with you as to how that fact somehow became offensive. :)

anyone remember the 'disk drive' for the nintendo 64? no?

well, theres my input.

oh yea, you better believe that I do.

The ironic part is, this is similar to Sega's travesty of "Sega CD + 32x "
