+1 !!! My Oly White/Maple 2010 MIA P came with Tort.(which is safely stashed away with the original plastic & stickers) and I had the dealer put a gold anodized guard on it before I ever brought it home. Looks like a late 50's P and plays like butter!
I think the current 57 reissue in white with the anodized pickguard and blond neck is the prettiest P bass ever. Just my $.02
I, Pet Sounds, like a Brian Wilsonesque Olympic White P-bass with rosewood board and white or maybe mint pickguard, tugbar and ashtray. I have something almost as lovely: a stock 2010 MIA Oly White with rosewood board and TORT pickguard.

Well, I would have voted, but I didn't see mine as one of the options. My favorite white P-bass is the one that Warrior makes. Instead of four strings it has six. Instead of a P-style pickup that's 50 years old, it has dual soapbars featuring modern advances in pickup design. Instead of "vintage" tone, it has every tone you could want. And instead of a pickguard, it has a feature that automatically reduces the cool points of onlookers by one half just for entering within 20 feet of it while holding a pick.
But no one has ever seen Dee Dee Ramone playing one (whoever that is), so I guess its not on the list.

White/Tort/Rosewood: the exact American Standard P-Bass I ordered 4 weeks ago (it hasn't arrived yet!).
I would answer this question differently, depending on the year/model of the P Bass. For '60s Ps and for the current American Standard models I like the r/w and tort combo, but for a '70s P ... it has to be maple board and b/w/b p/g (Dee Dee Ramone stylee

Never really thought I'd like the combination until I saw it on a Strat the other day. Olympic white paint, aged pearloid guard and maple neck. The way the color blended from the body through the guard and onto the neck gave it an extremely classic and clean look.

If that doesn't work the programme involves people taking offers from dealers for various objects. The most this guy was offered was £3000 which he turned down. Looks like he made the right descision because a little internet research reveals it sold at Christies of London last week for £10,000:
