What is your favourite white P bass combination?

Anything but tort. Here's my medium scale MIJ Squier
That's it right there, brother. When it's got some age on it the finish yellows and the white guard contrasts it. Love it.
Interestingly, that combo is the least popular in this poll?!
I do like tort if the finish is that ash bodied transparent white but not on solid.

Yes, that's it.....it's a '68 Tele bass neck that had been refretted for a project that never happened and then was bought by me via Ebay and put on a '96 Mexi P poplar body with stock pickups etc. (with a Schaller roller bridge). The neck came with perfectly dressed frets and it fit in the pocket on the body snugly and set up easily with no shimming or side to side alignment problems...a near perfect fit. The refret was by The Blue Guitar (http://theblueguitar.com/), a lutherie shop that specializes in classical and flamenco guitar work, and it is excellent...can't even see any evidence of it at the side of the neck. It was one of those rare times where what I got off of Ebay far exceeded my expectations. The auction showed pictures of the neck with no hardware on it, and I bid accordingly. When the neck arrived it had the original machine heads and string retainer in place as well as the 1968 neck plate and screws.
And oddly enough, on this bass I love the sound of the original mexi pickups and pots. There is a perfect (for me) slight roll off of the high end inherent to (cheapness of ?) the pickup itself. In a P Bass with 'better' pickups, I always roll off some highs on the bass anyway, so I figure it's better to have the EQ I want there without rolling off anything. Plus, the mids and lower mids are punchy and good and the pots are quiet from the mexi works.
So I have the neck worth 20x as much as the body, but it works for me. I do keep my eye peeled for any old tele bass bodies that come up for sale, as it would be great to assemble it to pseudo-original spec. But these are hard to come by, and not cheap. I thought about a cheaper tele body, like off of a 'Sting' or Classic Vibe Squire, but I like the sound and feel of it as is.
But to get back on topic ..... I always preferred this color combo because I too, am a fan of Dee Dee, and the Ramones.
White is versatile. My favourite combos are tort, black and gold anodised with a maple fretboard. Tort for a rosewood fretboard.
