Hmmm. 3 Warwick options, 3 Rick, and 3 Ibanez... but no Yamaha? :D

Over the past 5 years I've mostly alternated between a G&L 2500, BB 415, and most recently an Ibanez ATK 805e has joined the rotation. Out of all of those the BB probably gets the most stage time right now as it best fits my current gigs.

For me, it's a 5 string P from Lakland (Skyline). I play a P style bass for a few reasons. First, when I've had very configurable, active basses, I've usually found a sound I like and stick with. In other words, a lot of the enhanced functionality is lost on me. Second, having a limited number of controls and only one pickup makes it easier to dial in your sound to a room or group setting. I know this is counterintuitive, but on the bass itself, a little roll of the tone knob one way or the other is usually all it takes. Lastly, for most non-bass players, the P bass is the bass sound that they have in their heads. It's part of the "P bass magic" - it sounds like it fits because it's the expected sound.
