P & J. Two of the finest Squiers ever made, imho!

Which ever one I think will be the best choice for that particular gig. Usually bring two or three (fretted, fretless, backup). Currently there are fourteen to choose from. Even though I can get any gear combination to sound reasonably close to what is needed, I pick the gear over what is expected visually and what inspires me to think in certain terms musically. Some instruments make me approach music from a different viewpoint than others and as a result I play more in that style than I would on a different bass. If you wanted to play metal you probably wouldn't grab the Hofner 500-1 first. <NOT the best bass for metal!

My only gig in the near future is accompanying a couple of girls who sing and play acoustic, so I like the Ibanez SR706 or SRC6. One of them loves the XL2 though, so that may come out on occasion.
