What kind of strings do you use?

GHS Progressives Gary Willis set on my Yamaha 5; loud and punchy, chewed up my fingers at first long gig.
Ernie Ball Green Slinkies on G&L-2000 4; very nice, much better than last set of GHS Boomers, which sounded good for about a day.
Hartke nickel-wounds on Warwick Rockbass; got 'em for free, so far, so good.

I use Rotosound Swing Bass 44's
I love those Mo Fo's. They have a better with age tone. And they kick *ss to begin with with.

mmmmm...love those elixer strings till they get all flakey and make my already discusting bass even dirtier 
Got Rotosound Swing 66's on my new 6-string, running .125 to .035. They feel... strange. Almost sticky, in a strange way. I'm more a fan of nickel strings, but I got given the Rotosounds as a gift so I'm giving them a fair trial. There's just a weird feel to them, although the tone (so far) has been fine.

I have tried lots and lots of different strings, but I use Ken Smith Tapercore stainless steel strings exclusively (30-40-60-80-100, using high C on my 5 string). Nickel gives me red fingers (seems I'm allergic to something), other people experience the same?

So it is possible to alergic to...nearly anything.
i love these. they last forever, sound very round on my smaller scale bass yet still pack the punch on the pbass.
they also are nice on the fingers. and they look hot.

I used to use Smith Burners on my Fairlane. Excellent strings. Very mellow, upright-like vintage tone and a silky smooth feel that's very finger friendly. However, the tone just isn't for me and makes my bass sound TOO mellow/vintage.
I have SIT Powerwounds on now and I have found my string. It's amazing how nickel-plated steel roundwound strings of the same gauge on the same bass can sound so markedly different. The SITs IMO are a much better match for my bass than the Smiths.
Xlixirs on my Fortress Flashback 5 (Moving to Flats though) and they do last, ive had a set for about 6months now and im still getting a newish tone out them, just starting to look a bit dodgy with parts of the nanoweb coming off heh.

Im selling my Curbow soonish, but GHS Boomers were good on it, so the hunt for a decent 4 and a decent set of strings starts for that..
