What kind of strings do you use?

I have Ibanez SRX355. It originally had BEADG set of strings, but I would like to put on EADGC set.

Would there be any kind of problems?

I love my DR Black Beauties (E=105) for my fretted basses.
There are other strings that sound a little better when brand new, but these stay constant for along, LONG time. They are great for slapping, popping, fingerstyle and tapping.

On my fretless babies (including my Barker Vertical bass), I only use La Bella Nylon Tape Wounds (E=115).

Plus, black strings are very sexy

Anyone else with thoughts on Elixrs? I bought a P-Bass with a set on it and I think I actually really like them... But they are really expensive in comparison to D-Addario or DR or even Rotosound.

I used Elixers for years. Too slippery for me. I love my DR Black Beauties- not slippery, they don't shred, and last as long as the Elixers (and less $$).

I use them on my two fretless basses - especially my Barker Vertical, which I play a lot. They have a great sound, great feel, and last forever. I tried some of the other wrapped strings, like Fender and D'Addario, but the La Bellas are far and away better (in my opinion).

They have more of a string bass sound than metal strings, so especially for my hybrid they are a good choice, but I love them on my Yamaha 4 BG too.

i had been using cleartone coated string and found that they lost their new sound really fast.tried roto's swingbass 66's on my 75' reishue ash j bass and i've found " my sound" i'm thru shopping.

'68 PBass, '78 Jazz Bass, and '93 Stingray 5 all have TI Jazz Flats. I love the tension and tone and they never grow old! On my Frankenstein Pbass I have DR low tension rounds that sound really twangy and bottomy at the same time, really like them. I have Fender's new nickel rounds on a Frankenstein fretless PBass and they have a little to much mwah for me but I think it I need to set it up differently from when I had flats on it.
I can't use just one type of string as different songs(and basses) want different tones, don't you think?

I have my Sterling Stingray strung with .95 D'addario Prosteels. It really works for slap and fingerstyle funk, but I'm getting the .100 Prosteels next time - hopefully they should last a bit longer and drop down to D slightly better but still be light enough to slap.

I currently have my Ibanez Iceman strung with .110 D'addario XLs, but I'm going to change them to the .110 Prosteels. I love Prosteels :3

Rotosounds 5 string Roto sets on my Ibanez, and Ernie Ball Bass Power Slinky 5's on my Jazz, although i may have to try some DR Neons sometime soon.

Been using Labella Jamerson flatwounds on my '75 Rickenbacker. Love the sound, very warm, very Macca.

Nylons, especially with the seams and"Cuban Heels".
Seriously though, depending on the electronics; Alembic compression wound, or, Pyramid flats, (I have gotten good sounds from the D'Addario nickel half-rounds too). Did I mention that these are on short scale basses?

Elites Strings, rounds, nickels, flats, I haven't looked for anything else in 15 years, v.consistent, softer tension, long lasting and reasonably priced.
