What look do you prefer?

No matter how nice it is, you can't see the clay dots in low light situations so I wouldn't have those necks for that reason.
Black is not a great color as it shows off all flaws. But if thats what we're dealing with then I'd go with the black pickguard. The red is an eye-sore and the brown tort, while its normally a favorite of mine, you got a bad one there. Meaning very little color / contrast. So black it is.

I always prefer maple fretboards with black, I have a number of them. But, I also prefer my P's to have an anodized gold pickguard.

I generally like black pickguard and a black painted bass body, but a red tortious pickguard just pops well in this color scheme.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but blocks belong on a jazz bass. Just looks goofy on a p bass to me

I've never cared for block/bound necks on a P. Just doesn't look right to me. Jazz bass - blocks and binding all the way.

For a black body P bass I like tort with rosewood and whiteguard with maple (overall I slightly prefer maple for P bass due to tonal reasons). For a red P bass, a whiteguard looks great with either fretboard.

Not a poll choice, but I prefer the P5 in my avatar: black/black/maple with dots (I've never cared for blocks). It's been described as a Roger Waters bass which is fair enough, but I first fell in love with that look on a Music Man!

Love the dark brown tort and rosewood look, which is how I ultimately voted, but I also love the look of the maple/blocks nearly as much. I'm a sucker for tort, though not in all cases and it can depend on the look of the tort, but I'm also a sucker for blocks. Even on a P bass.

But, my short answer is #3 by a very small margin.

You left me with only one option as someone who is NOT a fan of tort! The black on black with the maple neck reminds me of Roger Waters' bass.

Going outside the three options, have you considered a mint green pickguard? It will stand out and bring some color to your bass and it won't be as starkly as white.
