What makes your band unique?

thanks man! our singer is our singer because we just jam on something and he walks up to the mic with lyrics that he just pulled out of his ass and theyre usually good. he didnt get it because hes a good singer hahah

my band consist of me and my brother. We play psychedelic blues, like jimi hendrix. The drums are sequenced by a old drum machine. We both sing. Our live performance consist of my brother's paintings projected into a layer behind us. We dress like nerds, but grow a lot hair.
We use a reverse style music, my brother play a epi casino with alot reverb at low register notes, replacing the bassline like duanne eddy, or dick dale. And i play the bass at very high register note, using the fuzz and overdrive, sometimes wah, replacing lead guitar. Sound's weird, huh?
My brother controll the drum machine, and i play some real instrument, like bongo, tabla, or shaker, and sample it.
That's us.

A unique blend of pop-rock "Sublime" reggae mixed with heavy traditional island influence and Mexican flavor! (1 Filipino, one Guamanian, 1 Mexican and 2 white boys) - - Reggae melting pot!

Do you guys plan out the "sound" of the band as a group or do you all just kind of do what you think sounds right unless/until someone tells you it doesn't? As incredible as it sounds we've got a singer/guitarist the other member of the band are trying to reign in, but we're getting dangerously close to infringing on his right to play what he thinks sounds right even if the rest of the band doesn't.

We score silent films. Not in the original style, but putting a modern soundtrack to old films. Our music I usually tell people is very Peter Gabriel-esque, but it really runs the gamut, especially during the shows.

To date, we have 11 full length films and a handful of shorts.

We know the divergent tastes of the members of the band, and we know where we can find the "sound compromise" that satisfies those respective tastes. Our drummer would have us much more proggy, our vocalist would have us be much more grungy, I'd have us be much more stoner rock, but there's certainly enough of a crossover that we can still create music even if we're all attempting to play different genre stuff on the same song.:D

Well...... we have enough prog. influence that our music stays interesting that people who want to dig into it can find enough to go on in terms of taking it apart. However, it stays catchy enough that you can groove to it if you want. We try to think of it as solid rock music that has a few layers to it. I also don't know too many people who sound like our singer.

It's difficult to make changing time signatures fairly constantly sound grooving and catchy, but I think we do it pretty well.

Your singer's style is totally different... but his belting tone is kindof like Burning Borders' old singer... really thick

We're a blues band, which is a hard genre to be truly unique in. However, unlike most blues bands in our area we run the musical gamut from hard rocking Chicago and blues/rock to jazz blues with a number of swing/blues numbers in our repertoire.
