New Hampshirites - notorious beach bums, with all 45 feet of beach NH has to offer, getting the salt-water on their basses.

Either that, or the soulful playing brings tears to every eye in the house, and those get on the screws.

Unless - the whole play 'til your fingers bleed bit, but I figure that's for guitarists, not bassists.

I did get a nasty pitzing blister one gig, though.

My vanity nearly ran me close to three large for a new-to-me Sadowsky 5-24 USA Satin. Fortunately(?) someone else was just a tiny bit more vain than I seem to be.
