WHAT??? Rickenbacker 4003S!?

I wish we had a date on when the the S is available, I will be in Oreogn mid March and I want to buy one and have it shipped up there, yeah I am cheap and want to avoid the sales tax.
I am on the 4003w waiting list at Wildwood. What did they quote you for the 4003sw?

No guarantee that a retailer will honor it, but RIC lists the W versions (both full-dress and S) as having the same price as the other colors.
It figures today is the day I decide to check TalkBass for the first time in forever . . . a Mapleglo 4003S with a "proper" (i.e. not reversed) winged headstock is basically . . . the holy grail for me. Fireglo is a close second. And to hear that it's going to be cheaper than a regular 4003.
And then the Walnut and Walnut S versions.

A jetglo 4003S would be AWESOME right about now, even better a azureglo 4003S would be really AWESOME right about now!!!!
I was hoping for Azureglo to be on the list as well. It's not so I settled with a deposit on a Midnite one.
Its quite sad to hear the stories of bad customer service at RIC. I had several great experiences in the distant past when FC Hall ran the company. I snapped one of the truss rods using roundwound strings back in the seventies and they couldn't have been nicer about the repair. They have also provided me with parts throughout the years till the nineties when I noticed things changing. I remember large variances in headstock size on the Chris Squire basses. Saw some incredible pics of huge headstocks that were just short of comical. Although inconsistent, we all love the heritage and designs of these great instruments and I'm crossing my fingers that I can get a nice 4003S mapleglo!

Those and the walnut are all the colors Pick Of The Ricks listed on their site for preorders.
Someone is not too familiar with vintage FG.
Not to mention the obvious the colors you see on your computer monitor may not reflect the actual shades.
