What song do you usually warm up to?

I start with a multi-octave scale and more often than not I think of something and it became a free-form solo
Roll through some chords (or harmonics, if I wish) and do some simple vocal harmonies. Warm up the ears too!
I am in a bluegrass trio and I just run through a few scales and then when he is ready the banjo player will go into Bob Dylan's "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere". We can't play without starting there. I read once that for years Louie Armstrong used "When It's Sleepy Time Down South" as his warm up and if you listen to it you'll see why, perfect warm up song for trumpet.
Some arpeggios, some scales. Then I'll play some early Beatles to see what's what. After that I'll see what I feel like doing.
Lately I warm up to "Contiuum" of Jaco Pastorius.
I don´t play it complete, only a few phrases and I just start to vamp. It works for me, ´cause when I feel that my fingers are all right I can increase the 16 th notes per bar to my way.

My warming up is not like my finger's warming up, but it's my band's warming up. We're jazz player so we play Chick corea's Got a Match or Charlie Parker's Donna Lee. It's hard to play them at the same speed but when it's started to clean, we are know that we've warmed up already and synchronize until the last seconds of rehearsal.

....and if it is for me myself practice, i rarely do warming up. Just play a song or two that you like and you're fluent. Just do pattituci's spider fingering a bit if i just go back from a looong holiday and feels that my finger is frozen already.
There´s no doubt a good exercise for warming up, but it´s so boring, like another exercises of the same kind. In the other side chossing "Donna Lee" to warming up it could be so dangerous in some situations for me. I´d need play before some song to get it.
Something slow and funky works better for me than something fast and straight forward. I find it much harder to groove to slow tunes.
I warm up to smells like teen spirit, as it is a long song, and just gets my musical senses working.
I was doing too. We got in our set list some slow songs like. Sometimes I took "What´s going on" (Marvin Gaye) for creating an owner slow groove and after increasing this groove (not the speed) to my taste.

Before hand it depends on what I have listened to during the previous days...we also always run the entire set the afternoon of a gig before we tear down and go to the venue so I am physically fine
If I have time at the venue before anything, I usually default to stuff from Anthrax, Sabbath, Suicidal Tendencies, Minor Threat, other Rush licks, Ozzy stuff from the first 3 albums...just things that pass through my adult ADD rattled brain related to memories of my days when I was first starting playing. More than anything, this is done to keep me occupied during the time before doors open and the other bands are on stage since I am pretty antsy by nature. As the other bands arrive, i always socialize, but I have my bass on to keep my hands occupied. It is never a showing off thing. i guess it is like the other people who drink or smoke...that keeps their hands occupied, my bass keeps mine. Since i am still in the arena oi having to get my gear on and off stage myself, I really get no other "warm-up" time other than the line check. By then, I don't need it. i am pretty comfortable.

.Yes. It´s really a good song to do it. Always worked for me.
Chromatic & major scale up and down the neck, pieces of La Villa Strangiato and one of my originals which is as much a workout as La Villa -- good to go.
