What strings are these?

Roto Solo Bass 55's do come with green silk at both ends, but I think it's a much darker shade of green than what's in the pics. GHS Balanced Nickels have green silk only at the tuner end.

Yes, darker green. More British Racing Green than bile green.

I was just doing some research on Trace Elliot strings last night and learned they did have all the features discussed here. Green silk at both ends with tapered ends.

I spent some time digging through the internet and they quit making these around the year 2000. I couldn't find a picture of a string itself to compare with mine. It's amazing how they managed to last as long as they did.

Probably when they get thrown in a box or cabinet and collect dust for years. Just like anything else.

I had some of those Trace strings, and I recall I got them for free for some forgotten reason. I’ve also forgotten if I liked them or not .

I think they sound nice. They are already broken in so I can't say how the break in is but they are nice to play. Medium tension and not too rough for being rounds. The closest thing I can think of to compare them to is ghs super steel or Rotosound. Like the feel of supersteels but the tone reminds me of broken in rotos.
