What the...Darkglass Vintage Microtubes?!?!

Question. Does the B7K have speaker simulation? Just curious. I'm working on making this my main pedal and cutting out every other drive Ive been stacking(minus the osd). I will say that the only con I could think of on the B7K is that it could have a two channel option. I love the clean sound as much as the blended od and full on distortion. That said, ive been thinking about getting a B3K to use with it. I know this is a pricey option, but i dig the sound that much. I'm gonna wait for the Vintages to hit the streets first. It might be a better mix with a vintage microtubes in front of the B7. If anyone is thinking the same and trys this combo out, please report back and let me know. My band has not sounded this good and my rig has not been this light in some time.

I just ordered my Vintage today fellas!!! I cannot wait for it to get here!!! At least my GAS attacks will be done for quite some time :) I hope anyway!! :bassist: :hyper: I ordered it through BassEFX and Chad said it should be here, hopefully hopeful, by wed of next week. Oh ma garsh I cant wait!! I havent been this excited about anything since I picked up my GK 1001 RB back in Dec/Jan, which wasnt that long ago. My rig and pedalboard are almost semi-complete. Thanks Darkglass and BassEFX!!!!! You guys rock!!

I ordered from BassEFX also, I'm pretty jazzed. I'm personally not bummed about the delay, as I think you have to factor in things like this when you have a small company dealing with a very high amount of demand for a brand new product. I've also been out of town for work, so I wouldn't have been able to use my new toy anyway ;). Good luck on the revisions fellas!

I could be wrong or had misunderstood, but i had a conversation with doug (Darkglass) and asked him about speaker sim - which is one the reasons i love my VTbass....I'm pretty certain that while its not got a speaker sim exactly, there is some sort of roll off at least on the top end (if not the bottom also) which stops the distortion sounding too 'fizzy' when recording direct or being DI'd at a show. This was in reference to the B3K but i suspect the same could be said of the B7k and a sensible assumption would be that its on the Vintage.......*disclaimer* I had this conversation just over a year ago and it was over a beer, so i could be wrong.....but im pretty sure im not.

The Vintages are going to be shipping out at a slower pace than expected - I was doing the final play testing on a batch of them today and they didn't sound quite the way they should. A part needs to be replaced on all of them and that's going to take a few days to manage.

I wish I had better news for you guys - I know you've been waiting a long time, but I won't ship anything that doesn't sound absolutely right.

I had not read this post. It's really a shame.

I should not cancel my order but unfortunately my unit will arrive too late for me to use in my new project.:scowl:

No speaker simul. on all Darkglass products I guess.

There is no speaker simulator in any of our pedals, in the sense that there's no stage designed to simulate any sort of cabinet or speaker.

Than being said, they all have low pass filters that smooth out the high end post clipping, which is what, among other things, speakers do.

So there's not a cab sim, but arguably they don't need it.
I have recorded with the B3K using a pedal EQ before I had designed the B7K with good results ;).

Thanks everyone for your patience and questions.
We apologize for any inconvenience - remember that this is as inconvenient and frustrating for us as it is for you.
We just want these bad boys out, in your hands as badly as you do, and we will have them all out as soon as humanly possible.

I must get back to work.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Doug.
