What was your first amp (old guys only) Pt 2

I started with a Gibson Atlas head with the 115 cabinet. Terrible for bass, decent for guitar. Plopped down a little over $850 for a brand new SVT & 810 in 1976 and never looked back.Been through others since then but I always go back to the Ampeg.

An old Sunn solidstate combo. I'm pretty sure it was this model whatever it is, barely loud enough for all ages punk scene gigs in the 80's. Was very happy to get rid of it for an Acoustic 'fridge setup.

My first bass amp dates back to the early seventies. I bought a used mid to late sixties Sears Silvertone bass amp for the princely sum of ten dollars. I don't remember a whole lot about that amp except that across the top of the control plate it proudly announced that it was...

SOLID STATE.

1963 Sears Silvertone 2 x 12 (Jensen steelbacks) tube bass amp, made by Danelectro...I think it sold new for about $150, now they are "vintage" and sell for 4 times that or more.

I played that amp in bar bands for 12 years, never even changed a tube.

I played an original Danelectro Longhorn bass and later a '70's Fender Telecaster Bass through it, then sold it for about what I paid for it.

My first bass amp was a like-new, used Ampeg B-15N that I bought in '68 or '69 from Rondo's in Union, NJ for $150. (sold a surboard to buy it).

After that in order:
Fender Bassman 50 + Fender 2x15
Peavey Bass + Peavey 2x15
Peveay F800B + 2 Peavey 2x15
Peavey T-Max + SWR 2x10, SWR 1x15
Ampeg SVT-3Pro + Ampeg 4x10
Mesa Walkabout (head) + Ampeg 4x10
Mesa M-Pulse 600 + Ampeg 4x10
Ampeg V4BH + (you guessed it) Ampeg 4x10
Ampeg SVT-CL + Ampeg 4x10, Ampeg 1x15

Current:
Ampeg SVT-VR + Berg 6x10
Mesa Walkabout (head) + 2 Ampeg SVT-210 Micros

First amp was an old used Kustom 200 head and 2x15 cab in black tuck n roll i saw in a local music store for $200. I put like $10 down on it to put it on layaway and then got my first job at the age of 15 to earn the rest to pay it off. Part time fast food at $3.18 an hour. It took months before i earned enough to finally pay it off. That was my one and only amp until the head finally died around 7 or so years (and lots of gigs) later
