2008 MIM FSR Jazz -natural ash. Fender CS 60s pickups and pure nickel strings. Always feels like home.

Knowing the kind of teen I was, I probably did not but, I'm sure she enjoyed me being in my room playing bass and not getting into trouble somewhere.
Mine was an Epiphone Power Bass, bought new in 1988. P+J configuration. Black, rosewood board, string thru bridge with brass saddles. Had it modded with EMG actives and new tuners. Sold it, got it back, sold it again a few years ago.
Ibanez Road star II series got in 94' or 95' played it until 08. Still have it and get it out once in awhile...

I didn't really appreciate the quality of this bass when I first got it, but it always has been, and still is a great instrument.
I kinda messed up the neck a while back trying to lower the action, totally ignorant of what all it required
. Now the neck is pretty badly bowed and the action is much higher than I'd normally like. The tech's at GC couldn't do anything to fix it and suggested I have a "real" luthier look at it, but I've come to find that for slap and pick playing, it's PERFECT. Even for fingerstyle, it's not SO bad. So I still play her, just as she is

My first bass was this Charvel 4B. Bought it new in 1988 IIRC. Sold it about five years ago. Solid bass with no issues and a headstock you can use as a weapon.
The first bass I ever owned - an Ibanez Roadstar II baby! I was 14 years old.

My first bass is a '62 Fender Bass VI bought from roommate for $250 while in college (theory/comp major) in '75, a nosebleed to learn on from scratch and still my main bass after several decades of epic sessions and great memories. The 'antique' is my forearm wearing through the sunburst layers over 40+ years.
Original pickups, a drop-in Dan Armstrong hotwire for series/parallel, a drop-in Staytrem bridge, had the neck re-planed once and a couple of re-frets.
Still playing this one 6-10 hours a week. I want to be Pablo Casals "…when Casals (then aged 93) was asked why he continued to practice the cello three hours a day, Casals replied, "I'm beginning to notice some improvement...".

I bought mine new. I was told it hanged in the store for over 2 years because no one liked the orange metallic color. Served me well for a couple of years until I traded it in on a new Fender JP-90: SOLD - FT ONLY Fender JP-90 and Mark Hoppus

I don't have it any more, and don't have pics of it on my computer. But I found some pics online of the same model and color. Just looking at these brings back memories. Aria Pro II, XRB Series.

I got my first bass in 1980, I had saved up all my money while I was working at Denny's restaurant and ordered one of the first Rickenbaker 4003 bass in Azureglo from High Country Music in Colorado Springs, I really miss that bass, when your young you don't think about things like that when you sell musical instruments and get other musical instruments, my 2nd bass was a 1980 Fender Precision that I ordered brand new from Colorado Springs Music, I remember the color of that bass was like Cambells cream of tomato soup color, beautiful bass, it was stolen in 1983 when I lived in San Dimas, California.
