What was your first bass guitar?

Mine was a red Squirre P-bass. Played it for about 16 years before I upgraded to a "Geddy" about a month ago!

hah! same here, but I had a squire black p-bass and played it for about 5 years, then upgraded to a geddy, which im still happy with.

Mine was an Ibanez SR400, Jewel Blue.

At a gig early on, a fellow bass player in another band borrowed it because the electronics shorted out on his bass. He broke the D string on mine and replaced it with a steel wound but didn't tell me about it. Like I wouldn't notice that it didn't match my nickel wound set... lol

Vox semi-hollowbody teardrop bass, very much like [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. Except a previous owner had yanked the neck pickup and shoehorned a Gibson EB-0 humbucker in there, ruining whatever classic value it had. Still, it was cool to learn on.
