What was your first "gigging" rig?

My first was a Traynor 15 from the 70s (it was really light) where the leads to the speaker coil had come undone so they were glued in place. To power it I used a Pioneer Stereo Amp from the 70s modded with a small panel for the 1/4 inch jack. I quickly upgraded to a Yorkville 400BH. I still can't believe I hauled that very un-ergonomic rig all over Toronto in the 90s on the busses and subways.

Didn't take me long to figure out there were more gigs for a bass player than singer. I started off with a Sunn 2X12 cabinet driven by my brother's Peavey Mace guitar amp which also had 2 12s. I was playing an S.D. Curlee which I bought from the guy with the Sunn. I can't remember what happened to the Sunn, but I think my brother still has the Mace. It had a spring reverb that would give a great SPROING sound if I hit a note too hard. I did a lot of SPROINGING for the first few months.

Reviving this thread cause why not? I was just thinking about how far I've come since my first rig.

I had:

Kustom 200 watt 15" combo advertised as having "exploding power" lol.
Aria Pro 2 that weighed 12 pounds or more. Brass nut, neck thru.

Peavey Combo 300. Eventually with a 3620, then later without its BW, as I had put the chassis in a head box, and used the 3620 biamped with a Crate b-150 pushing the 10's.

Wish I could hear that rig now with more knowledgeable ears. Just to see if it really did sound as good as I thought at the time.
