What Washburn Bass Do You Own (Database)?

Unfortunately, for the serial number, you'll have to look everywhere including the electronic cavity (if you are lucky, someone put it there) as the official SN was usually a fricking damn sticker! What a dumb way to do it! But what gorgeous basses!!

Good evening Willie The Pimp,

The serial number on that model is on sticker that you found just at the back of the ending of the neck but, as you did not found any probably the previous owner had taken it out.

I did, along with names (for fun), thought you'd want them... Adds to the database, might help if someone gets one stolen or something, both as outside evidence of ownership, and to help if a stolen bass comes up for sale online. Up to you boss.

I have a pair of XB-500s, but I'd hardly classify myself as the "go-to guy" for any model...I'll try my level best to answer any questions that do come my way, but I suspect vbchaos is going to be a better resource!

Sure, I'll put'em up. It will, as you say, also be a repository for our members SN's...just in case. So bring'em on. I'll go to your altered copy and transfer your stuff to the actual.

(I guess an example would be, if...say...oh, I don't know..psp742 or maybe msact stole 3 of your basses, heck, maybe 10 (I mean...why not) and then you checked the SN's, at his house, over his protestations. But you found them covered over with red glitter nail polish and he had written new SN's with a sharpie to fool you. But if you or anyone thought to look under the red glitter polish---he's busted and there they would be--the REAL SN! Is that what you are talking about < I ask in all innocence>?)

Heya tedious1---------I see you just joined TB! And like a pedigree hound-dog, sniffed out the best forum here! May I give you an official member number? And how about a pic of the basses with serial numbers to enter into our database list? Glad to see you and pay no never-mind to the scurrilous remarks about me you may see.:scowl:They are usually only about 53.623% correct.

I have one more Washburn. Bought it brand new in 1988. My beloved D-14N. It doesn't go in this forum, but I thought I would mention her anyway. 26 years is a long life for a cheap guitar!

Did you post some pics of your Force ABT 5 Prototype on TB in the past? Is there some differences with the following production model?

Nice idea, Randy, to divide the list into types. I did.

iriegnome---no SN for your AB-32.

I will repost picks of my abt shortly. Yes there are mjor differences from mine to the production model. Mainly the slanted tuners (my recommendation). Mine are straight. Mine is Burled Bubinga, way to expensive for production. Mine has 5 individual bridges, I believe the production has a single bass, but seperate rails. Also my electronics do not say washburn on them

Very interesting! Higher quality wood and bridge, different configuration on the machine head and pre-production electronic, yes! It's an unique piece of art, I can't wait for the pictures, please take some of the back also to see if the neck-thru is carved the same way as the production model.
