What Washburn Bass Do You Own (Database)?

Thanks a lot iriegnome,

It's a pleasure for the eyes and surely for the ears, and this color give that bass a greater personality. It's Burled Bubinga that have Mahogany in sandwich as it's not seem to be a complet block of Bubinga. The carved neck to body transition is the same as the one on the regular production model.

Congrats!

So a few days ago I see this 1999 Fantom 5 for sale at GC. I have never seen one before. Looks like an XB bass, but is named a Fantom bass. It is not in the 1999 Washburn price list for that year. Anyone know anything about them?

The latest pic I have of her.

I have never seen an older production model. I do know that we received mine, another one just like it, a 4 string TS and a 5 string fretless. I know one of the internet guys bought the 5'er and had the board personalized, sold the others to Cresent City music in Florida.

1993 or 1994 (I think) Washburn MB-6 (6-string), not on the list yet, surprisingly. Serial #9303233. I heard they were only made for 2 years but I have no idea how true that is.

That's me onstage with it in 1995 or so. Ya just missed me by months; I JUST sold it! It lasted less than a week in the store. I owned it for almost 20 years.

Oiled alder body, maple neck w/ scarf joint headstock, rosewood fingerboard, 6-bolt neck pocket, dual truss rod. Active Washburn electronics, no idea what pre and no idea what pickups. Washburns ;)

Good evening gurusan,

You're right, it have been introduce in 1992 after the Axxess series and stay in catalog until 1993 then after the XB Bantam series replaced them in 1994. All the Mercury series bass are sold easily and the MB-6 is a very rare model so it's not a surprise that they did not stay for a long time on display. I hope you'll find another one.

LOL! Crazy. I blew out both wrists playing it; only in the last 4 or 5 years have I been able to play again. I can't play with anything bigger than a 4-string now on a regular basis.
