I can say categorically he [Waters] is not that amazing a player.

I collect recordings of Pink Floyd, and Waters is the consistent weak link in all of them.

Big +1 on this. On a good day, Waters' bass playing is adequate.

Plenty of fans, and other factors allow them to have signature models produced. Whether or not they are more technically skilled is not what Fender cares about. Not that I don't agree with some of your statements on a personal level. It's just that musicianship and sales don't match, ESPECIALLY in modern music where the majority of hit songs are largely a singer with a computer generated backing track.

Looking on your profile you list Roger Waters as an influence. Does he deserve a signature model? He was tone deaf and played crude bass lines with a pick. He couldn't keep rhythm and time. Look here:

Roger needed Rick Wright to tune his bass. I've seen footage of Pink Floyd from 1971 where Gilmour has to tune Waters' bass as well.

I found this is funny. I also never really got why Waters got his own sig model just as much as the two people the OP is complaining about. I also can't stand Water's singing. Nasal and tone deaf, just like you said.

I couldn't care less. I was merely pointing out the fact that Pete Wentz and Roger Waters are basically in the same league musically. I never even mentioned Waters' song writing. You jumped to his defence you are not the OP. Not my problem.

Remember rule #1 - Respect for all members. I think everyone should calm down a little here, it's no big deal.
